There’s a vibrant restaurant scene that offers everything from well-established San Francisco standbys to the latest eateries featuring locavore cuisine and quietly inventive food. Hayes Street Grill has long been known for their house-made whiskey-fennel sausages and crispy French fries. Boxing Room cooks up excellent Louisiana cuisine and features all things fried: chicken, oysters, seafood po-boys and even alligator. You’ll also find a near-perfect Chicago-style hot dog at the local Kosher deli and an authentic biergarten serving liter mugs of German beer alongside brats and soft pretzels.
